Signing session

National Championships Wrap Up

A quick reminder that the competition to win a fully autographed Nationals poster is almost over so be sure to leave a comment in the previous post to be in the running to win this awesome prize. And if you don’t win I have also opened all three auctions for the remaining fully autographed posters so everyone has a chance to get their hands on one.

We had a great signing session after our final competition with many different objects the target of my rather lacklustre signature. Thanks to everyone who showed up, I hope the boys and I provided you with some entertainment over the course of Nationals.

The competition is over and I quite pleased with the way I competed overall. This competition was one with the future in mind therefore the scores were not as important as getting ready for the Olympics in four years time. But in saying all that I achieved many of the goals I set out to achieve this competition. Some of my more interesting results are below.

Josh Jefferis and Thomas Pichler have had a huge build up to this point at and the wait is finally over. Josh Jefferis will be the Australian MAG representative, also announced Janine Murray will be the RG representative. More information can be found at the press release. Congratulations to both Tom and Josh and I’m sure Josh will do Australia proud. Thomas has been selected as the travelling reserve and will be documenting the whole journey. You can keep up with his video series on his website at ThomasPichler.com.au. I have embedded the first of his video series below.

At the conclusion of this competition we had some retirement announcements and I would like to congratulate Sam Simpson, Naazmi Johnston and Philippe Rizzo on all their previous successes and I hope their will be more to come in the future. The sport will miss you. Gymnastics Australia put together a nice little tribute.

Overall I would say that the competition has been run well and I would like to thank Gymnastics Australia and all the organisers and volunteers for putting on a great event. Without which there would be no competition. Also a final congratulations and pat on the back to all the gymnasts participating, many of whom have paid their own way here, it once again would not be the same without the competitors. I hope the competition just gets better next year.
